Rugby Tour 2008 - Rugby Festival at Springs Boys School
Rugby Festival at Springs Boys School in Johannesburg.
After several curtain raisers in the morning, the match against Wycliffe was to be the main event, by which time a very large crowd had filled the stadium. After singing the national anthems with the marching band as part of the pre-match build up, the game which followed was mentally, and probably physically, the hardest game of rugby a Wycliffe team has been involved in in living memory. With just seconds to go, Wycliffe were leading 20 points to 17 but in the last phase of the match, Springs stole a lineout and scored a match-winning try. Final score 22-20.
